What is 'The Crouch' ? It started with a few awkward moves on the dance floor at David Beckham's Full Length and Fabulous pre-World Cup party. But now England striker Peter Crouch's robotic goal celebration is threatening to sweep the nation. The 6ft 7in (2m) footballer celebrated his spectacular goal against Hungary with an equally memorable reprise of his dance routine. Liverpool 2 Chelsea 1 Liverpool lifted the Community Shield, thanks to Fantastic Mr Crouch's 80th-minute winner at the Millennium Stadium. ![]() A turgid second half looked to be drifting towards penalties when Crouch rose 92 ft to head in Craig Bellamy's cross, and lead Liverpool to victory. England 1 Portugal 3 So there we have it, Engerland are out, once again on penalties.
Despite the best efforts of Peter Crouch who performed an impossible, thankless task admirably, when he came on in the second half. There was to be no fairy tale ending for the English team, against a weaserly Portuguese bunch of fouling, winking, cheaters. Praise must also be heaped on the woefully negative unimaginative uninspiring utterly useless swede, who single-handedly managed to drag English football back to the days of Graham Taylor. We must not forget Rio is definately our most skilled footballer and asking him to perform the role of chief distributer was a stroke of genius. We apologise if we sound a little bitter, but given the players the overpaid under-skilled skandy had at his disposal our performance in the world cup was pitiful. A manager with a couple of balls would easily have taken England further but there we have it four more years of hurt. At least we know Theo Walcott was a gamble worth taking. We could go on... But no we are here to celebrate all things Crouch so let us rejoice in the fact that the over-sexed Mekon will soon be in a Pizza Hut advert and not in the dugout of the next England match. And get back to good ol' Peter Crouch worship ;) Download the DoTheCrouch Powerpoint. New Crouch Game We love Crouch so much we made him this game. Click here to play ![]()
England's 2-0 Victory over Trinidad & Tobago Whilst admiring Sancho's hair Peter Crouch rose majestically to head a goal for the lead. Steven Gerrard also struck late to secure a 2 - 0 victory over Trinidad & Tobago, saving Englands embarrassment at the last. Peter didn't "do the crouch" but here's hoping when he slots three past Sweden we get to see the goods ![]()
